Schwinn 270 Recumbent Bike Assembly
Attach the bottom “feet” bars to the bottom of the main body, which comes in the package assembled. The feet have the hardware already on them. Remove the washer, nutand screw, set the main body on top of the bars and assemble the hardware. Tighten securely with an allenwrench.
Attach the seat frame assembly to the seat rail and use the hardware provided to secure them together. Tighten the screws fully.
Insert the back of the seat and the seat itself in its designated spot on the seat frame assembly and tighten them using the hardware provided. Be sure to use the proper hardware. For example, use the curved washer on the rounded part of the pipe that it’s assembled into. If possible, put the outside screws on first and then move to the inside. A total of eight screws and washerswill be used at this step.
Attach the seat cover to the frame assembly by clipping it to the part right underneath the back of the seat.
Attach the seat adjustment handle to the frame assembly by screwing it into the slot underneath the seat. Tighten it firmly and move it a little bit to make sure the handle moves freely.
Slip the console mast through the upper shroud and fit it onto the frame assembly. Before setting it on the frame assembly, you need to connect the wires and make sure they aren’t pinched. Insert the shroud cap and use the hardware supplied to secure it all together.
Since there are screws already assembled into the console, you will need to remove those to prepare for mounting it.
Connect the wires from the console to the frame assembly. Line up the holes on the frame assembly where indicated, and put the screws back in to mount it, but be careful not to pinch the wires. An easy way to avoid pinching the wires is to feed them down the tube to get them out of your way.
Assemble the foot pedals by making sure you have the right pedal and the left pedal identified by the “R” and “L”. Screw the pedals onto the bar and tighten using the tool that’s provided. Repeat the process for the other pedal and note that the left pedal is reverse-threaded, so it will seem like you’re loosening it, but you’re actually tightening it. Then install the foot straps by snapping them into place on the respective pedals.
Use the remaining two screws to attach the water bottle holder onto the frame assembly. Tighten the screws using the tool provided.
